Lavirac™ WinterShield Pool Pillow

Last year, heavy ice buildup bent the top rail of our above-ground pool and cost us hundreds to fix. We put this pillow under the cover this fall, and it created the perfect dome. Rain and melting snow ran right off to the sides instead of collecting in a giant mud puddle in the center. Absolute lifesaver.

Most pool pillows pop or deflate by January because the vinyl is paper-thin. This one is noticeably thicker PVC. We had temperatures down below zero last week and it’s still holding air with zero leaks. The dual valve design makes inflation quick with an electric pump.

Usually, opening our 18-ft round pool means pumping off nasty green swamp water and rotting leaves for hours. Because the pillow kept everything pitched, the cover stayed mostly dry and clean. We pulled it off, and the pool water underneath was crystal clear. Worth every penny.

The corner grommets are sturdy. I used the included ropes to criss-cross and tie it down to the side posts before putting the winter cover on. Even through two heavy windstorms, the cushion never shifted to the side.

Inflated it to about 80% as recommended so there’s room for the pillow to compress when the ice freezes over. It did exactly what it was supposed to do. Relieved the ice pressure and kept the center elevated. Best pool winterizing investment I’ve made.

For an oval pool, you really need two of these spaced out. Got the 2-pack and they worked perfectly together. No sagging spots anywhere along the length of the pool cover. The material feels heavy-duty and doesn't get brittle in the cold.

Hooked up my electric mattress pump and had it blown up in 3 minutes. Centered it, tied off the lines, and pulled the winter tarp over. Took all the dread out of winter closing this year.

Living in Minnesota, winter freezes are no joke. Seeing our pool cover stay elevated under 10 inches of fresh snow instead of sinking into the water gives me complete peace of mind. Highly recommend to any pool owner.
